all in good time

I cannot help but PRAISE THE LORD for HIS goodness!

Recently my family endured some unexpected and abrupt changes. In searching out God’s direction for us, we have listened to several different preachers in the last few months.

It has been amazing to have God teach me a truth personally and then go to a church service [or listen online] and have it re-iterated to me from a different persepective.

God is just GOOD like that!

One such truth is that….

God’s delays are NOT the same as God’s denials;

the IMPOSSIBLE is done in a DIVINE timing!

God knew what would happen. He knew why and allowed it.

{{Sometimes He allowes things that no one understands just to try our faith.}}

God has become more real to me in the last 6 months than I have ever known… and, honestly, I felt close to Him before that. I talked to Him daily, hourly, as if He were actually right there with me–since He is. 🙂

But I still occassionally worried about little things, like money 🙂 desiring more space for my kids to grow in our house, eating healthier… just little things, that require money.

Then we had no income.

Bam.

And there had never been ‘enough’ before, so there was no savings to fall on… we lived paycheck-to-paycheck, with God filling in the gaps… somehow… every month a miracle.

But God’s timing IS divine.

All that previous stretching pennies proved to me that He could take care of us…

And He did.

There is absolutely no way around saying that.

He —GOD ALMIGHTY—literally paid our bills for 4 months.

And this has brought Glory to Himself in our family!

And honestly, I have never felt MORE peace than I did those months.

I still feel it now…

Because HIS divine time has provided my husband with a new job.

HIS divine time has brought us to a new family of fellowship.

His divine time has introduced us to new friendships to develop.

His divine time has taught me that:

Jesus SPECIALIZES in the impossible!

Because it brings glory to himself!

the 5 minute exercise for couples

You can read about this exercise at  The Happy Wives Club.

Our printer is having issues, so I did not print this… nor did I have time to write it out. But I did send it to him so he could read it.

5 min exercise…my dearest Husband

There is always more that I think after I’ve written my love a note like this… but since it wasn’t actually the last 5 minutes we would ever be together, I have said “I love you” several times since then. And I try make an effort to let him know something I appreciate about him every day!

This is a great exercise… I may do it again!!

Do you ever write a little note to your spouse just to let them know you appreciate them? It can work wonders… in both hearts. 🙂

Happy Valentine’s Day

My Dear Sweet Man,
~ us ~ 2012 ~
I thank God for you. I am blessed to awake in the same home as you and know that you are there. I know your love is there and that your forgiveness has been just as constant as your love.
Thank you for going to work each day. Thank you for coming home, too. usually in time for supper {smiles}. Thank you for wanting to spend time with your family above others. Thank you for loving our children with discipline and instruction as well as hugs and kisses and tickles. Thank you for all you do to ensure that our family stays together and that we serve God together, too.
You are truly the best thing that ever happened in my life apart from accepting Christ. I pray the Lord allows us many more years together [or simply comes back!!]
…Grow old with me. the best is yet to be!!!

what we started

60 days of THANKSGIVING
{2011}
Right in the middle of October, when Halloween was looming and Thanksgiving was around the corner {and Christmas after that!}, I wanted to do something with my family that would take their minds off the candy and scary costumes  and put it on being thankful!
But I also did not want this Thankfulness to stop with “Turkey day!” I wanted something to keep THANKFULNESS in our hearts through the hustle and bustle that has begun!
So, I asked the Lord to guide my thoughts- for something we could do that could be VISIBLE to my children at all times and require no trip to the store!
I enjoy computer graphics [my children prefer crayons! as you can see] so I used a computer to make this grid, but you could just as easily draw it with ruler and marker. I already had these little crayon papers. so I made the box size accordingly. I put a few Bible verses about thankfulness and thanksgiving on it.
Every evening during our family devotions we talk about what we are thankful for. If we have been to church [thus making our night a little late], we pick one thing as a family. Otherwise, each of us say one thing we are thankful for. Occasionally we have repeats. but we try to combat them. Some days our hearts are turned by what happened that day. other times we just think of things like friends and church and toys.
It is taped to a shelf on our bookshelf in our living room. We all see it multiple times daily. and now that we are half way through… it adds a lot of color! {smiles}
We began October 25 and will end on December 25. My prayer is that my children, husband and I can ALL learn more about being thankful. having the Spirit of Thankfulness permeate our lives. all the way through to Christmas night! [and beyond!]
